Power
In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Power is an overall stat that enhances your damage, cleave (the ability to hit multiple enemies with one attack), and stagger (the ability to interrupt or knock down enemies). It's a composite of your gear and character level, with higher gear ratings and levels contributing to a higher overall Power level. While it functions similarly to a flat damage increase, Power provides a broader benefit by scaling your weapon's base stats for more significant overall effectiveness.
What Power Does
Increases Damage:
Higher Power directly translates to more damage dealt to enemies.
Increases Cleave:
It also improves your weapon's ability to hit multiple enemies in a single swing.
Increases Stagger:
Power enhances your attacks' potential to interrupt, stun, or knock down enemies.
Affects Weapon Ratios:
How much power increases each of these stats varies by weapon, as different weapons have different power-to-damage or power-to-cleave ratios.
How to Increase Power
Equip Higher-Rated Gear:
Consistently equipping weapons and armor with higher numerical ratings will raise your overall Power.
Increase Mastery Level:
Through the mastery track, you can "empower" weapons and increase their overall power cap.
Power vs. Damage
Power: is a broader, multiplicative increase to damage, cleave, and stagger that affects the weapon's base performance.
Damage: is the specific damage number that appears on an enemy's health bar.
In essence, think of Power as an overarching stat that makes your attacks more potent in multiple ways, not just by a single damage number.
