Carapace Armor
In Warhammer 40K: Darktide, carapace armor is the heaviest type of enemy armor, representing thick, rigid plates of metal. Enemies wearing carapace armor, such as Maulers (heads), Crushers (all parts), Bulwarks (arms and legs), and Reapers (arms and legs), are resistant to most attacks, and some attacks may do no damage at all. Players need to aim for specific weak points, like the head of a Mauler, or utilize weapons and abilities that specifically deal bonus damage to carapace armor to effectively damage these tougher enemies.
Caracteristics of Carapace Armor
Heavy and Resistant:
It's the most robust armor type, making it difficult to damage with standard weapons.
Specific Weak Points:
You must target specific body parts to bypass the armor, such as the head of a Mauler or the arms/legs of a Bulwark.
Damage Cutoff:
Many attacks have a high damage cutoff against carapace, meaning only a small portion of the damage gets through.
Bonus Damage:
Perks or weapons that provide "bonus damage to Carapace Armored Enemies" are particularly effective against these targets.

How to Identify and Deal with Carapace Armor
Visual Cues:
Carapace appears as thick, heavy metal plates on an enemy.
Damage Numbers:
The game provides feedback on the damage you deal. If you see "Unyielding" or just a small amount of damage, you're hitting a weak point.
Use the Meat Grinder:
The Meat Grinder in the Mourningstar can be used to test your weapon's effectiveness against different armor types.
Focus on Weak Points:
Instead of trying to wear down the armor, aim for the specific weak points of these enemies.
Use Carapace-Specific Perks:
Equip weapons or blessings that grant bonus damage against carapace armor for a significant advantage.
